Antonio Tanaka (田中アントニオ Tanaka Antonio) is a first-year member of the Student Council who has a joyous personality, but he doesn't have good Japanese skills.

- The name Antonio means "priceless one" in Spanish, Italian.
- Antonio's surname Tanaka means "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta) and "middle" (中) (naka), which literally means "dweller in the rice fields" altogether

- Antonio is half-Japanese and half-Brazilian
- In his speech, Antonio uses both English and poor Japanese, in which he often uses a mixture of the two.
- Antonio is in the same class as Hayato Kimata.
- In Episode 7, when Antonio is wearing the X-Act Glasses, which make the wearer say what is on their mind, he expresses his wish to dance with Hayato Kimata which implies a deeper emotions although they seem to have no real relationship. However, nothing else about this is addresses in the entirety of the series.
